Aero-Mat is flexible honeycomb foam mat, used to add structure and thickness to composite laminates. Unlike standard cell honeycomb, "Lansor Soric XF" Aero-Mat is very flexible and will conform to compound shapes. It is a polyester non woven material with a compression resistant hexagonal cell structure. Ideally suited for reinforcing curved laminations where additional stiffness is needed. The cells do not absorb resin and therefore, limit the total resin up-take. Since these cells are pressure resistant, they create thickness in the laminate even when pressure is applied by vacuum bagging. The channels facilitate resin flow and form a pattern of cured resin with good mechanical properties and excellent bonding to outer skins.
